A Hair Make Over, A Second Birthday And An Update! ♥

Hey guys! So recently i decide to step out of my hair comfort zone and instead of the routine blonde dip dye i decide to purchase a Live Colour dye and go purple!

I loved the pop of colour to my hair as i think it looked really fun when matched with a purple lipstick, although as the dye is only semi permanent the colour soon went from purple to a bright pink.

The look was fun to try out while it lasted but i think i'll just stick to my lighter blonde ends in the future!

Friday my baby sister turned two! It seemed only right we made her birthday Frozen themed as she absolutely loves the movie! My mum baked this beautiful cake with vanilla and chocolate icing, white chocolate buttons and a lovely personalized sugar paper top which she purchased of off Amazon for only a couple of pound!

i totally recommend to anyone who's thinking of a Frozen themed party to look into personalized cake toppers on Amazon and making your own cake rather than spending unnecessary pennies on ready made store cakes.

It came so quick and you obviously get that sense of pride when you've created a great cake!

She also baked some little fairy cakes and topped them with chocolate icing and Frozen sugar paper (which all came on an A4 sheet so she had to cut each one out, hehe!)

Also we put up Frozen birthday banners, a Frozen table cloth, plates and Elsa & Anna napkins. And of course the normal mini birthday treats were prepared!

She got a few lovely gifts, which to everyone she open she said 'oh wow!'. It warms my heart to see such a small person be so appreciative for the things she had received. I hope she stays this humble for her whole life as its so refreshing to find with in kids these days.

Lola ended her day snuggling up with Bella in her 'Peppa Party dress'! Such a wonderfully simple but cute day, surrounded by loving family in a warm cosy house... what more could a 2 year old need?

I just thought i'd give you all an update in to my life past things such as new hair dos and birthdays. I am aware i haven't been very active in the blogging community with in the last week or so and this saddens me as there's nothing i love more than chilling out and writing posts.

Mentally i haven't had the motivation to do much, everyday is a constant fight trying to get myself mentally healthy and happy again. Although i have plans for change! I've been thinking and planning alot lately for new posts mainly focusing on my mental health journey and also of course Christmas!

I think instead of trying to stick to a schedule of days i post i will post when and whenever, as much and as little as i like as this will create less pressure for my mind and most probably will create more enjoyable posts!

I hope this has been a some what enjoyable read and as always i hope you've had/ have a wonderful day!

October Birchbox | Products Review ♥

Hello there wonderful ones! Finally i'm posting my review of the October Birchbox yaaay!
This month's box theme was WORK IT! supporting a organisation with much importance CoppaFeel.

This months leaflet contains little tips and tricks to try everyday for 14 days helping one to create a better balance in life in areas such as sleeping patterns, eating better, organisation, exercising etc. The leaflet also suggests ways the items received in the box can be used through out this time!

I love the easy twisty side ponytail hairstyle they've added, its such a fun easy idea for days when your struggling with time and hair inspiration.

The leaflet also comes with a how to step by step guide on how to check your boobs correctly to make sure there is nothing out of the ordinary and also informs on how to get involved in a community.

I think this is a wonderful subject to bring to light with in the beauty community as its a terrible illness that needs all the publicity as this will create more funds to be put towards finding a cure.

Make sure to use these steps, its quick and easy and nothing to be embarrassed about, they're your boobs!

Into the products -

Oh my gosh... The Cattier Paris Masque Argile Clay face mask seriously made my face feel as soft as a babies bum! I received two of these in my box so i'm saving my other for a day when my skins looking as though it needs a little pamper.

The mask its self actually looks like clay (hence the name) and is quite a thick consistency. The scent is very fresh but not too over powering, which i think comes from the aloe vera. The aloe vera is the reason it had such an amazing effect on my skin as anything with it in always makes it happy, plus the mask is tailored for sensitive skin so all round win win!

I definitely recommend if your in the market for a face mask if you have a dry T-zone like myself as it clears pores, leaves skin soft and feeling moisturized.

This stuff is the shizz! Its perfect for those days when I've styled my hair weather it be curled or straightened and i need something to control those naughty fly away's but don't want to commit to the heavy stickiness of hairspray! I simply take a little dollop of the Kms Tame Frizz Taming Creme and rub it into my each hand then run it through out my hair; fly away's banished!

This product had made styling so easy... i'm not really sure how i lived without!
I loveee how its a heat protection too, so i could run this through my damp hair wait for it to dry naturally (its curly, blow drying is a no no if i can help it) then style, two birds with one stone as my fly away's are handled and my hairs protected! Fantastic!

I'd never thought of there actually being a product for soothing and banishing those nasty little ingrowing hairs and red bumps that sometime come from quick shaving. But then this little beauty pops up!

Shaveworks The Cool Fix Targeted Gel Lotion is my new favourite remedy for soothing and removing any form of redness leaving my legs and pits looking as lovely as they should, i only wish the sample was bigger!

How cute is this packaging? Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in the shade Honey Nectar is lovely, it adds a nice natural shade to the lips while also moisturizing and it smells (and tastes) a-mazing! This little treat has been a firm favourite since received as a nude lip is such an easy look to go to.

I love the brand name of this beautiful bright red shade, Lollipops. How sweet!
Not much to say apart from it looks beautiful on and will see its way into the festive season for sure.

All of the products came in this cute pink make up bag, which is great as i feel i can never have enough!

My lifestyle extra this month was a Birchbox lipstick pen, which looks adorable and is the perfect size to just throw in my handbag. Next time someone asks do you have a pen, i'll be like yes. Yes i do. Hehe!

Hope you've enjoyed this little post keep you're eyes peeled for November's! Little info i received it today, its amazing, i'm in love! I'm sooo excited to try things out :D

Thanks for reading and i hope your day is bright and beautiful!

Autumn Series - The Only Palette You'll Need ♥

Hey! Today i thought i'd share with you a recent purchase that i think is the perfect palette for this season and the next. The Flawless Palette by Make Up Revolution is just beautiful, it contains a diverse arrangement of 32 shimmery to matte super pigmented shades which are all named appropriately.

The palette appears as if its arranged in order of seasons; lighter, natural colours - Spring/Summer, warm and darker colours - Autumn/Winter. This is a great way to think if this is the only palette you have or are using as you'll always be season appropriate!

The looks you could create are endless with this palette in hand from subtle natural looks to romantic smokey eyes to a dramatic darker looks. A few of the shades that have quickly become my favourites are Red Night, Molton Chocolate, Golden Night and Medal as they complement and really emphasis my blue eyes.
Also Highlite and Angel are just perfect for highlighting the brow bone and I've even experimented with a little on my cheek bones, which works wonderfully.

For the next week or so i'm going to put a couple of photos to the end of each blog post with eye looks I've created using this palette as i think that could be quite fun and perhaps inspire!

Thanks for reading, have a lovely day!

Make Up Revolution Atomic Lipsticks Review ♥

Hellooo there all! I recently noticed that Revolution had released a new collection of lipsticks called the Atomic Collection. This collection was released just before Halloween as the 5 shades in it could easily make great companions to any fancy dress make up; as lets just say, they're all quite out there!

If your a fan of the lipsticks from Revolution like myself you'll know they're all great quality products that offer a suffice staying power and moisture. Also they all smell like vanilla which is wonderful!

The collection contains 5 shades all only costing a bargain price of £1.00 each! I only bought 2 of them as that's what appealed to me. Bellow i have linked the other three shades available -

Ruby - A bright red.

Make Me Tonight - A blackish tone with a hint of red.

Serpent - An unusual dark green.

I purchased Magnificent and Make It Right. Its safe to say i'm a sucker for a purple lipstick, i think it's a shade that adds a nice bit of edge to a make up look with out looking too over done up.

Magnificent is a lovely purply pink shade with a noticeable dash of shimmer. In the tube it appears darker, looking very similar to the Depraved lipstick from their Scandalous Collection, although when actually applied on the lips its a lot lighter.

This shade is definitely going to be worked into my everyday make up, it'll add a nice bit of shimmer and colour to the lip, although i feel like it's also a great shade to build up for a night out with a smokey eye!

I'm in love with Make It Right, its a beautiful dark purple shade that can be built up easily. I've been searching for a purple like this for a while as its my favourite colour to wear on a night out. I Have been running low on a Revlon one for a while, so finding one from a brand i love is fantastic!

I can see myself dotting this on my lips gently then applying a matte berry shade on top for a nice Autumnal purply red look through out these colder days.

I hope you enjoyed this little review of the new Atomic Collection. Let me know in the comments if you've tried any of the Make Up Revolution lipsticks and if so which is you favourite?

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day!

I'm absolutely in love with this wine coloured floppy hat, i think it looks so lovely worn with a dress and a bold berry lip. Autumn Series - Autumn Colours Inspired Eyes ♥

A fun, colourful make up look for when your feeling a bit bolder and adventurous! Just because the weather is getting duller doesn't mean your make up has to! Let the wonderful Autumn colours inspire you ♥

Firstly any make up look must begin with a fresh, prepped complexion! I take a cotton pad and apply a few drops of my favourite cleanser, the B. Pure Micellar Water then gently wipe all over my face to remove any impurities. I then take a nice little dollop of my Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer and rub it gently into my face, mainly focusing on my dry areas such as my forehead and around my nose.

Our next step is to even out the skin tone with a foundation! Today i'm using a tinted moisturizer by e.l.f  in the shade Porcelain as my skin is in quite good condition at the moment so i didn't feel i needed the full coverage most foundations offer, obviously though use what suits you best!

I apply a little splodge of this to the back of my hand and dip my Real Techniques Stippling Brush in then blend it into my skin. This brush seriously is the best thing I've ever used to create a even, well blended, natural finish its amazing!

Got to cover those bags, we don't want to look tired now do we?! Well coverage of any under eye darkness is recommended when applying darker eye shadows because the shadow(s) could end up making them look a million times worse than they probably are!

The concealer i'm using is the All Over Cover Stick from e.l.f in the shade Apricot Beige. I've also used this to highlight the center of my forehead and my nose.

I then take my favourite powder, the e.l.f Studio Tone Correcting Powder in the shade cool (which is the perfect match for my snow white skin!) and lightly dust it all over my face to lock in the foundation and most importantly the concealer as it tends to just creep off without!

Using the same Lydia Cosmetics fluffy brush i used for my face powder i swirl it around in my Vivo pink blush and apply to my cheek bones. I feel a flushed, rosy cheek goes perfect with this look as it looks very season appropriate and especially if you have fair skin, if not grab that bronzer and contour!

As my skin is light contouring is something i tend to do very fairly, or i could end up looking like an umpa lumpa very quickly which to be honest is never desired. So all i do is use the little brush the Honolulu Bronzer comes with to create 2 lines in the hollows under my cheek bones, then take my Real Techniques angled brush to blend it in naturally.

Brows are obviously essential! I use the Studio Eyebrow Kit from e.l.f, which comes with a dark brown gel to define the brow and a lighter powder to set. I use a Lydia Cosmetics angled brush, as its the perfect tool to create the shape i desire with ease.

Time for colour! The palettes i'm using are the e.l.f 100 Eye Shadow Palette and the Make Up Revolution Salvation Palette. I've marked the colours I've used with little hearts.

So firstly i used the mustard colour from the e.l.f palette and applied it a quarter of the way up from my inner corner.
I then blended the bright orange colour from the Salvation Palette into the yellow and down almost to the end of my lid.
So far this look is very bright and groovy (haha yes i said groovy) which isn't quite what i want so i take the pinky purple shade, (which is so beautiful i may add) and blend it into the orange and up into my crease to darken the look and pull it all together.
Finally i take the darkest purple and apply that right to the end of my lid and up into my crease to add even more depth.

To add consistency to the look i blend the pinky purple shade and the dark purple under my bottom lash line. I think this really opens the eye up too! I then applied brown liner to my inner top lash line, to create the illusion of thicker lashes and used my liquid eyeliner pen to create a classic thin to thick flick. Oh and curl them lashes, its a must!

Finally apply your favourite mascara, I've been loving the ModelCo Power Lash Mascara, a couple coat and we're done! On my lips I'm wearing a combo of the NYX Butter Lipstick in the shade Hunk, and on top to make matte the Make Up Revolution Lipstick in the shade Fusion. It creates a nice purpely berry toned lip which i think goes perfect with this bright Autumn inspired eye look.

Below are a few close ups of the finished look and an overview of all the products and brushes i used!

So whats is your opinion on this look? I understand this may not be for everyone as the colours used are quite bright and its definitely not subtle! Although if your having a day where you feel like trying something new and stepping out of your everyday make up routine i recommend something colourful like this, you might just surprise yourself and love it!

Lets embrace all these beautiful Autumnal colours before they fade away for another year!
Personally i feel looks like this work well for me as i'm quite a colourful, quirky orientated person (hence my multi-coloured braids! Hehe) plus i love how the colours complement my blue eyes.

( An overview of all the products and brush i used! They are all linked within this blog :) )
A little promo for the 5 black brushes above as i find them amazing for the price. These are Lydia Cosmetics Brushes, i purchased them as a set of 16 off of Ebay for only £7.99! They are all super soft, and such great quality with no shedding what so ever. I've linked them above, so if your in the market for a new set of brushes but your on a budget i really do recommend you check these out!

If you've been wondering what those crazy braids are about throughout this post, this is why! I love plating my hair into loads of braids when i'm bored as its quite therapeutic.

I find its best to do this when my hair has semi dried then to sleep in them. In the morning i remove the braids then boom lovely crimp styled waves!

I simply pin back my shorter fringe pieces to make it look a bit more put together and i'm done! This works nice on my hair as i have curly thick hair but i could imagine it'd create a nice effect on straight to wavy hair too.
Just a simple, quick hair idea perhaps for mornings you'd rather sleep a little longer than sort out the mop!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments if you decide to try this make up look out, you could even tag me on instagram @kimberries_Corner if you wish!

Have a lovely day.
